Jason graduated from the University of Wisconsin, La Crosse with a bachelor’s degree in political science before earning a commission in the US Army. While on deployment to Afghanistan, Jason was injured by an improvised explosive device blast, suffering two below-knee amputations and nerve damage to his right arm. He went through 21 surgeries before receiving his prosthetics and going through the recovery process.
Sentinels of Freedom (SOF) assisted Jason with his rent for two years and provided furnishings for his home while he earned his master’s in security services at Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. For the next few years, Jason continued to receive mentoring and networking assistance from the SOF team.
He recently graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a Juris Doctor and proudly gives back to his fellow Sentinels by serving as a board member for Sentinels of Freedom. Jason works as State Counsel for US Senator Ron Johnson. Additionally, he speaks around the country to various schools, companies, and organizations about overcoming adversity and the power of a positive attitude.
